Dhudhi Chana Curry (Bottle Gourd Curry)

Ingredients
1/4 cup toor dal (yellow lentils)
1/2 dhudhi (bottle gourd)
Salt to taste
For Paste
1/2 cup coconut
8 dry red chillies
1 tsp coriander seeds
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp tamarind
1/4 onion
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
For Garnish (tadka)
1 tbsp oil
2-3 Curry leaves
1 clove garlic
Instructions
Cut dhudhi into small pieces
Cook dal and dhudhi in a pressure cooker, adding 1 cup of water and salt. After 1 whistle, cook on low flame for 15 minutes
Grind coconut, chillies, coriander seeds, mustard seeds, tamarind, onion and cumin seeds with water into a fine paste
Mix paste with the cooked dal and dhudhi, cook in low flame for a few minutes
Heat oil, add curry leaves and garlic when hot and add it as garnish on curry
