Ingredients
1 cup udad dal
1/2 tsp salt
2 curry leaves chopped
2 cm ginger chopped
2 green chillies chopped
1/4 cup coconut
Oil to deep fry
Instructions
Soak udad dal in water for 4 hours minimum
Wash and grind in little water
Remove from grinder, add salt and keep aside for fermentation (4 hours minimum)
Add coconut, chillies, curry leaves, ginger into the ground dal, mix well
Make doughnut shapes and deep fry until golden brown
If making dahi wada, make round shapes instead of doughnuts - put fried wadas in cold water for 2 seconds, squeeze water and remove
